Drawing on a repertoire that includes classical, jazz, and contemporary works, the Clinton Street Quartet delivers engaging and dynamic performances that showcase the expressive and technical capabilities of the trombone. With a focus on musical collaboration and artistic expression, the Clinton Street Quartet has become a favorite among local audiences.
Standing out
The Clinton Street Quartet is composed of founders Kolbe Schnoebelen, Ty Waters, Ben Copeland, and Ryan Carter. Based in Iowa City and formed in 2021, the CSQ has performed a recital+Q&A series at a variety of primary schools in the Southeast Iowa area.
The CSQ has also entered in multiple international competitions, including the International Trombone Association Quartet Competition and the American Trombone Workshop Quartet Competition. In addition to the trombone quartet, the members are versatile performers and educators.
CSQ members have performed in orchestra and jazz training programs in Aspen DC, Vienna, and Brevard. Members have also been named finalists in the American Trombone Workshop Solo Jazz Competition and perform regularly on the professional jazz circuit in Iowa.
